Sound Designer - Producer - Director - Filmmaker
Barbaros Kaynak is a Turkish Sound Designer and Re-Recording Mixer based in Jersey City, New Jersey. He has been working in the film industry for over a decade.
Prior to his immigration to the United States, he studied music and sound engineering at Yildiz Technical University in Istanbul and worked in the music industry.
In 2013, he moved his life to New York and discovered his interest in motion pictures. Since then Barbaros has collaborated with an incredibly diverse group of filmmakers on both location sound and in audio post-production.
He worked as a location sound mixer for the Netflix Mini Documentary Series “The Devil Next Door” (2019) and on Isabel Sandoval’s Feature Drama “Lingua Franca” (2019).
In the audio post-production field, he mixed Emmy Nominated documentary “The Interpreters” (2018). Another documentary that he did the sound design and mix for was “An Act Of Worship” which Premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and aired on PBS in 2022.
In addition to his sound work, Barbaros is eager to help tell more diverse stories as a filmmaker.
